Internet connection sign-in window pops up when connected to internet already via broadband?
Okay, so I know the title of this question is quite vague, so let me elaborate:
I just got a new laptop and for the first few weeks I would just plug in my internet cable and it would connect without a problem; however, starting yesterday whenever I plug in my cable and open up an internet browser and internet sign-in window pops up with a prompt to input my username & password as if I were trying to connect to a dial-up connection! I have no clue why this is showing up – and its very annoying.
I can just hit CANCEL on the prompt and then reload the page and that usually works, but I don’t know why this is happening. Please help!

If you’re using Windows with Internet Explorer, try this: Go to Tools, Options, and in one of those tabs ( i think Connections), it will have a bunch of options, you can select: “Never dial a connection”.
use the Network connection wizard and chose the right options.
Internet explorer
Tools
Internet Options
Connections
Click the Setup button
Next
Select connect to the internet
Next
Select Setup my connection manually
Next
Select Connect Using a broadband connection that is always on
Finish
Close Internet Explorer
Open up and problem is gone.
Under connections, it is still set-up as a dial-up. You need to go to start, tools, internet options, , connection and set it to never dial a connection, apply, ok and that should get rid of the pop-up.
It seems that you have problem on your computer system. You’ve mention that a few weeks ago it’s working then all of a sudden something went wrong. First question, when connecting to internet do you have authentication form which is logging in to your laptop with a password before you can use internet?
