What type of pc is it that you are using? You can check by going into the device manager and checking whether or not a wireless device is listed under network adapters because otherwise you will have to use a wired connection to the router or by a wireless device. You will need a wireless receiver in your desktop too or any computer you try to run off that router or a card that is compatible with your installed router. Some newer computers come with it installed. If you bought a wired router, you will need an ethernet cable or usb cable, depending on the router setup, to go between your modem and your router and from the router to the computers that you are trying to run off that router. So for two computers you would need 3 cables,....one from the modem to the router input connection and one from each of the computers to the router outputs. I had trouble with my wireless internet as well, but that was because my stupid router wouldnt "Talk" to the modem (Stupid piece of ....)
