How to find ISP name/password from DSL broadband to wireless connection?

I got a new laptop and I am a bit confused on how to have a wireless connection. It says I need an ISP name/password but I am having trouble find it. I want to connect the internet on my laptop from my desktop, which is DSLbroadband. So if anyone understands what I am trying to state, how do I find it and what do I need to do to get the internet on my laptop working?
